The platform aims to address the following challenges in implementing the Open API Policy:

  • Lack of overarching governance structure across departments, common policy, control, accounting and monitoring for APIs

API Setu provides a single window access to a wide range of APIs from government and private sector organizations. These APIs can be used to develop innovative solutions for a variety of use cases, such as:
  • E-KYC: Electronic Know Your Customer (KYC) is a process of verifying the identity of a customer electronically. API Setu provides APIs for e-KYC from a variety of sources, such as Aadhaar, DigiLocker, and PAN.
  • e-Sign: Electronic Signature is a legally enforceable way to sign documents electronically. API Setu provides APIs for e-Sign from a variety of sources, such as eSignIndia and CERTiD.
