Raindrops and Goodbyes
Under the dim fairy lights of a tiny corner café, Anya and Rishi squeezed in a dinner date between their busy schedules. Both had early meetings the next morning, but tonight — tonight was for them.
As they laughed over hurried bites of pasta and cake, a soft drizzle began tapping against the café windows. They glanced outside, grinning — of course the rain had chosen now.
They paid quickly, still joking, Rishi fumbling with his wallet, Anya teasing him about being "the slowest fast dater."
Outside, the rain fell in playful misty sheets. Rishi gallantly held his jacket over Anya’s head as they dashed to the sidewalk, laughing so hard they could barely run straight.
At the doorway of the metro station, soaked and breathless, they hugged tightly. "See you in 9 hours," he whispered, rain dripping from his hair. "Bring extra coffee and an umbrella," she shot back, laughing.
As they parted, raindrops stitched their goodbye into a memory — hurried, happy, and perfectly theirs.
