Digi Yatra





Digi Yatra is a Digital India initiative to provide a seamless travel experience for air passengers. It is a biometric-enabled seamless travel platform that uses facial recognition technology to identify and process passengers at key checkpoints at airports, such as entry gate, security check, and boarding gate.

Digi Yatra is designed to make air travel more convenient and efficient for passengers, while also enhancing security. It eliminates the need for passengers to carry physical documents such as boarding passes and identity cards. Passengers can simply walk through the checkpoints without having to stop and show their documents.

Digi Yatra is also designed to be privacy-centric. Passenger data is encrypted and stored on the passenger's own smartphone. It is only shared with the airport and airline for the limited purpose of verifying the passenger's identity.

Digi Yatra was launched in December 2022 at three airports in India: Delhi, Varanasi, and Bengaluru. It is currently available at seven airports in India, and is expected to be rolled out to all airports in the country by the end of 2023.
