Overview of Digital India Programme Universal Access to Mobile Connectivity: This initiative aims to ensure mobile connectivity in all parts of the country by 2018. The objective is to provide each citizen of the country with access to mobile networks and associated services. There are a number of services offered by different departments of Government and other basic services such as banking, insurance etc where the mobile number of the resident acts as the authentication for ensuring reliability of services.
