#9 Digital India That You Can Use: NAD

National Academic Depository(NAD)

The National Academic Depository (NAD) is a 24x7 online storehouse of all academic awards, such as certificates, diplomas, degrees, and mark sheets, duly digitized and lodged by academic institutions/boards/eligibility assessment bodies. NAD not only ensures easy access to and retrieval of an academic award but also validates and guarantees its authenticity and safe storage.

NAD works by providing a digital platform for academic institutions/boards/eligibility assessment bodies to lodge the academic awards issued by them. Students can then register on NAD and link their academic awards to their NAD accounts. Once linked, students can access, download, and print authenticated copies of their academic awards at any time, from anywhere in the world.

NAD also provides a verification service to employers and other organizations. This service allows organizations to verify the authenticity of academic awards without having to contact the issuing institution directly.

Here are some of the benefits of using NAD:

  • Convenience: NAD provides a convenient way for students to access and manage their academic awards. Students can access their NAD accounts from anywhere in the world, at any time.

  • Authenticity: NAD verifies the authenticity of all academic awards lodged on its platform. This means that employers and other organizations can be confident that the academic awards they are verifying are genuine.

  • Security: NAD uses a variety of security measures to protect the confidentiality and integrity of academic awards stored on its platform.

  • Reduced costs: NAD can help academic institutions/boards/eligibility assessment bodies to reduce the costs associated with issuing and managing academic awards.

To use NAD, students must first register on the NAD website. Once registered, students can link their academic awards to their NAD accounts. To do this, students will need to provide NAD with the following information:

  • Their name and date of birth

  • Their Aadhaar number or mobile number

  • The details of their academic awards, such as the issuing institution, the award type, and the award number

Once their academic awards are linked to their NAD accounts, students can access, download, and print authenticated copies of their awards at any time.

To use NAD's verification service, employers and other organizations must first register on the NAD website. Once registered, organizations can request NAD to verify the authenticity of academic awards. To do this, organizations will need to provide NAD with the following information:
